ELKOFON
ELKOFON traps suitable for monitoring and reducing the population of the Olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae) and the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata).
ELKOFON PET 750
Advantages
- Supply of a trap with an insect-attracting liquid (Entomela Trap) lasting at least 2 months until the first refill is required.
- Reduced cost.
- High quality of material (plastic pet).
- Reusing of the trap (at least for 7 years).

Instructions for use
- For the first filling, pour into the trap the insect-attractant liquid (250ml of Entomela Trap) and fill with twice the volume of water (500ml).
- After mixing the solution well, fill the traps with it and hang them on the trees.
- When the volume of liquid in the trap is reduced by half, it is important to fill with diluted Entomela Trap in another proportion. For the supplement the dilution we use is one (1) liter of Entomela Trap in five (5) liters of water (total volume of solution six (6) liters).
- For monitoring, a network with 1 trap per 10 hectares is recommended.
- To reduce the population of the insect, a network of 30-50 traps is placed per 10 acres and depending on the population density of the insect, we can increase the number of traps on fruit trees.
- At the end of the growing season we collect and store the traps so they can be reused in the new growing season.
ELKOFON PET 1000
Advantages
- One-time filling of trap with liquid insect-attractant, for the entire duration of the growing season, unlike other traps that need refilling at regular intervals.
- Reduction of labor costs (no filling needed even during the summer months).
- Easy counting of the captured population of the insect.
- High quality of material (plastic pet).
- Reusing the trap (at least for 7 years).

Instructions for use
- For the filling, pour into the trap the insect-attractant liquid (330ml of Entomela Trap) and fill with twice the volume of water (660ml).
- After mixing the solution well, place carefully the two-sided section with the ‘sieve’ inside the jar.
- We screw the jar in the upper part.
- We hang the trap on the tree.
- Every time we want to count the insect population, we unscrew the jar, remove the two-way component from inside, count the number of insects, empty the component, put it back in the jar, and finally screw it back on upper part.
- At the end of the growing season we collect and store the traps so they can be reused in the new growing season.
Trap sections
Plastic upper part with a tree-hanging attachment and a number of small tray entry holes.
1000ml plastic jar which screws onto the plastic top.
Cylindrical double-sided component (cup-shaped) in the lower part of which a ‘sieve’ is integrated for the retention, retraction and easier counting of the end atoms of the tray.
